Mosquitaire CO2 - The universal mosquito trap
The Mosquitaire CO2 is an excellent trap for all mosquito species and other flying bloodfeeding
insects. The sturdy plastic trap designed to be placed on the ground. It uses the same patented
capture technology of all Biogents‘ traps with the additional use of pure CO2 which is an attractive
key element of human respiration and the most important attractant for blood-feeding insects.
Biogents suggests carbon dioxide from 10-kg-bottles which are are also used in pubs and
restaurants. Such a bottle lasts for three to seven weeks, depending on the flow rate used (500 or
200 grams per day). Under most circumstances, a flow rate of 200 grams per day is sufficient.
Carbon dioxide bottles are available at gas stores and gastronomy suppliers.
The Mosquitaire CO2 comes with a Mosquitaire trap and a 12 V outdoor power supply (TypII) unit
with an 8-m-cable, plus a preadjusted pressure reducer, the Biogents CO2 emitter nozzle, a CO2
tube that is equipped with specialized sinter plugs to regulate the flow rate to either 200 or 500
grams per day, according to the local and seasonal mosquito conditions, and the Biogents Basic
Dispenser human scent imitator that lasts for two months.
The trap comes complete with everything you need to run the trap for two months. Only a CO2 tank
must be sourced separately.

Mosquitaire - Captures Tiger Mosquitoes
The Mosquitaire™ has been specifically developed for use against tiger mosquitoes. It features a
patented combination of attractive visual signals, a specific air plume that mimics convection
currents created by a human body and a patented mix of artificial skin emanations (BG-
Sweetscent™) that are released through a large surface area. The Mosquitaire™ trap catches
significantly more tiger mosquitoes than other traps without carbon dioxide. Using the CO2-
versions, that is with the addition of carbon dioxide, the trapping performance can be raised further
up to four times.
The package includes everything you need to begin catching tiger mosquitoes: the Mosquitaire trap,
complete with two catch bags, a 12 V outdoor power supply unit with 8-meter cable and a two-
month supply of the BG-Sweetscent™.
Tiger mosquitoes include the Asian Tiger Mosquito (Aedes albopictus) ot the yellowfever or dengue
mosquito (Aedea aegypti). These species are potential vectors of diseases such as Chikungunya,
Zika or dengue fever.

Mosquitito - Tiger Mosquitito Trap
Like the BG-Mosquitaire™, the BG-Mosquitito™ features a patented combination of attractive visual
signals, a specific air plume that mimics convection currents created by a human body and a
patented mix of artificial skin emanations (BG-Sweetscent™) that are released through a large
surface area. The Biogents traps catch significally more tiger mosquitoes than other traps without
carbon dioxide. Using the CO2-versions, that is with the addition of carbon dioxide, the trapping
performance can be raised further, up to four times.
The trap is collapsible, has a pack size of 20 x 20 x 19 cm and can easily be taken along into regions
with tiger mosquitoes.
The package includes everything you need to begin catching tiger mosquitoes: the BG- Mosquitito™
trap, complete with a 12 V power supply unit with 8-meter-cable and a two-month supply of the BG-
Sweetscent™.
Tiger mosquitoes include the Asian Tiger Mosquito (Aedes albopictus) or the yellow fever or dengue
mosquito (Aedea aegypti). These species are potential vectors of diseases such as chikungunya or
dengue fever.

Biogents traps do not require
CO2 to attract:
tiger mosquitoes such as Aedes aegypti,
Aedes albopictus, and Aedes
polynesiensis or
various Culex species (house
mosquitoes) such as Culex
quinquefasciatus or Culex pipiens.
With the addition of CO2 Biogents traps
attract:
all mosquito species,
other blood-sucking insects such as
black flies (Simuliidae), stable flies
(Stomoxys), biting
midges (Ceratopogonidae), new world
sand flies (Phlebotominae) and
an increased numbers of the species
mentioned above (attracted without
CO2).
CO2 TRAPS
When humans exhale they release carbon
dioxide (CO2) into their surroundings
making CO2 one of the most important
attractants for mosquitoes. The addition of
CO2 to Biogents’ traps enables you to catch
a broad range of mosquitoes and other
blood-sucking insects.
The Mosquitaire CO2 trap uses the same
patented capture technology of the
Biogents traps with the additional use of
pure CO2 that is released
from the specialized emitter nozzle
designed to optimize the dispersal of
carbon dioxide by using a CO2 tube that is
equipped with sinter plugs to regulate the
flow rate. Depending on the existing
mosquito situation, you can choose
between 2 different release rates: 8.3
grams/hour and 20.8 grams/hour.
This allows the adaptation of the carbon
dioxide emission to the local and seasonal
mosquito situation. The following is a
consumption table of CO2 comparing the
two CO2 flow rates.
All of our mosquito traps use the
same patented technology.
An integrated fan creates ascending air
currents that imitate convection currents
of a warm, human body. At the same time
this fan also creates descending air
currents which suck the approaching
mosquitoes into the trap where they
dehydrate and die. Additional visual cues
help to attract the mosquitoes towards the
trap. The mosquitoes also recognize the
artificial human scent that is emitted with
the ascending convection currents of the
traps. The traps continuously eliminate
mosquitoes and disrupt the natural
population growth through
environmentally friendly and selective
measures without the use of insecticides
or pesticides. They do not catch beneficial
insects such as bees, butterflies, moths, or
lady bugs unlike conventional UV-light
traps. They are also easy to handle and
operate and consume only 4 Watts.
